Headteacher’s Welcome

We would like to welcome you to Halstead Community Primary School. We are a thriving village school set in the heart of the local community.

Our ethos is one of high quality learning opportunities within a warm and caring environment. We have high expectations for all our children at Halstead Community Primary School. We want them to be happy and successful, and we are committed to giving every individual child a chance to develop their talents, whatever they may be. We are determined to help children achieve and be given the chance to succeed in a secure and reassuring environment. Our aim is to help the children become self-confident and independent individuals who respect themselves, others and the world in which they live. Hence our motto ‘Everybody different, everybody equal.’

Our school site has a playground, a large playing field, an ICT suite, a library and a hall to ensure that we are able to provide a great learning environment for our pupils. We are proud to have Maple (our school dog), Forest School, The Wellbeing Award for Schools, allotment areas for each class and a focus on becoming more eco-friendly. In the summer of 2022, we were really excited to open a purpose built EYFS outdoor area and a revamped classroom which will ensure we are able to give our youngest pupils a first class start to their primary schooling.

In March 2022, we became part of The Pioneer Academy, whose motto is “Safe – Happy – Learning” which complements our caring ethos as well as the high focus on quality first teaching and inspiring learning experiences for the children. The Pioneer Passport ensures all children have arrange of experiences from visiting a farm to attending a sporting event at a pro

From September 2022, our stimulating and inspiring curriculum will be based on the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). This gives our children a good knowledge and understanding of the world, as well as underpinning some key skills. The IPC has 8 Personal Goals which underpin those qualities and learning dispositions we believe children will find essential in their future life. These are: Adaptability, Communication, Co-operation, Enquiry, Morality, Resilience, Respect and Thoughtfulness. Opportunities for children to experience and practice these are built into the learning tasks as well as reinforcing the school’s PRIDE values, which are Personal Excellence, Respect and Friendship, Inspiration, Determination and Courage and Equality.

If you would like to know more about the school, why not contact the school office on 01959 532224 and arrange a visit. We would welcome the opportunity for you to see the calm purposeful environment and amazing learning opportunities we have at Halstead Community Primary School.
